Celebrating Our 1st Anniversary
It was just over a week ago, August 14, that I marked one year being tobacco free. That decision to stop smoking and start vaping was life changing. Vaping has become much more than a habit, it’s more of a hobby, even a lifestyle. I was so excited about no longer being captive to tobacco that I founded Seven Report, this website and You Tube channel just over a week after I started vaping. The very first post on the website went up on August 22, 2014, the first video on the You Tube channel went live a day earlier, August 21, 2015. Both were titled Tobacco Vs. E-Cigs.
Since those first posts, Seven Report has reviewed dozens of pieces of vape hardware and scores of flavors of ejuice. There are over 170 articles on the website and as many videos on the You Tube channel.
When I first started Seven Report the thought was to share my experiences as I learned more about vaping. I hoped to gather stories from other vapers and share them too. And I figured I would review the hardware and ejuices I purchased, all in the hopes of helping other smokers discover the benefits of vaping.
That very first post looked at the differences between tobacco cigarettes, the Blu cig-alike and the EVOD 2 kit. Soon after posting that piece I made an effort to stop using terms like “e-cig” and “electronic cigarette.” I think we do vaping a disservice by using language that links it to tobacco.
Within a few weeks of purchasing the EVOD 2 kit, my wife and I (she had started vaping a couple of weeks before I did) were ready to move up to something a little more sophisticated, so we bought a couple of Innokin MVP 2 box mods. And about a week after that I picked up a higher quality tank than what came with the MVP 2, a Kangertech Aerotank Mega.
That MVP 2 has a maximum output of 12 watts, just a little lower than some higher priced mods with an amazing output of 15 watts! And the Aerotank Mega boasted coils with a resistance of 2.0 ohm. It’s amazing to think that it’s been a year since those numbers were thought of as impressive. Since then the vape world has seen mods capable of putting out 250 watts and off-the-shelf tanks with 0.2 ohm coils. And of course the recent trend of temperature control devices and nickel and titanium coils with resistances of 0.15 ohm and lower.
After Seven Report had been around for a little more than a month, vendors and manufacturers began providing products for review. The very first company to provide ejuice for a Seven Report review was Skull and Raven. They unfortunately went out of business not long ago.

The vaping community is another area of vaping that has continued to impress me. I’ve had the opportunity to get to know hundreds of fellow vapers, many of them bloggers and reviewers. None of what appears on Seven Report and the You Tube channel would be possible, or necessary even, if no one was reading or watching. Thankfully, you are doing both. Both the website and You Tube channel continue to experience healthy growth with traffic increasing every month. Thank you. I appreciate the time you spend with Seven Report. I’m expecting to expand the site’s coverage of vape industry news, start a section featuring special deals on ejuice and hardware to help save you a little money, and continue publishing in depth reviews and vape stories.
This first year has been very rewarding, exciting and busy. And I believe year two for Seven Report will include more of the same as the vaping industry continues to innovate and grow.
