When you cut through all of the technology and innovation, 200+ watt mods, sub ohm coils, RDAs, temperature control devices vaping really comes down to the ejuice. All of that technology is meaningless without something tasty to vape in it. Yes, some of the innovations in vaping hardware have impacted ejuice makers, causing them to formulate their ejuices to take advantage of higher temperatures and wattages. But at its core, vaping is all about the ejuice.

Vapers have a virtually unlimited number of flavors to choose from. Almost every ejuice maker produces the basic or primary flavored ejuices, the tobaccos, menthol, fruit, vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate and the like. By using only flavors from that short list the possible combination of flavors numbers in the hundreds. And there are dozens if not hundreds more individual tastes that ejuice makers use, either alone or in some combination.

Given the potential for unique taste combinations, it’s interesting that so many similar flavors wind up on so many companies’ menus. It must be that vapers have some strong feelings about some of those flavors that keeps ejuice makers mixing them under different names.

One such flavor is based on the kids breakfast cereal favorite Cap’n Crunch with Crunch Berries. Since the cereal was introduced in 1967, four years after the original Cap’n Crunch, it’s been a best seller for Quaker Oats. It has to be to have continued uninterrupted production for almost 50 years.

Many vapers and ejuice mixologists grew up on the cereal and the flavor brings back warm memories of childhood. And, I would guess, many of us still enjoy a bowl of the multi-colored Crunch Berries at breakfast or for a late night snack. That may help explain why so many ejuice makers include the flavor on their menus.

Crunch Berries from Deluxe Ejuice is at least the third Cap’n Crunch with Crunch Berries inspired ejuice that I’ve been sent for review. They describe their version as, “A personal favorite here at Deluxe Ejuice! Crunch Berries is a scrumptious blend of sweet and tart berries with your favorite Cap’n Crunch cereal flavor. Take all the berries and add some milk and you have our Crunch Berries! All hands on deck! The Cap’n sets sail for the Isle of Flavor…”

The Numbers As Tested

Nicotine Level      6 MG
PG/VG Ratio        30/70

Since this is such a popular flavor among vapers and ejuice makers alike, I decided to put the Deluxe Ejuice Crunch Berries to the ultimate test, vaping it alongside a bowl of the cereal which inspired it taste. Crunch Berries, the ejuice, held its own against Crunch Berries the cereal, mouthful for mouthful. (See the video above for the actual test.)

On the inhale Crunch Berries provides an initially sweet berry flavor that is soon tempered by just a hint of tartness. Lurking in the background is a note of that oat and corn mixture from the original Cap’n Crunch.

deluxe crunch berries with cerealWhere the Deluxe Ejuice variety of this flavor stands out is on the exhale. There’s a definite note of smooth, cool cream, not exactly milk, but it’s a dairy-like creaminess. The vapor itself is very smooth. The throat hit is mild to almost medium. The aroma is very reminiscent of a bowl of Crunch Berries, with the berries presenting first followed by the Cap’n Crunch.

I vaped Crunch Berries for a couple of days and never got tired of it. It’s a delightful mixture of berry and cereal flavors. If you remember enjoying a bowl of Cap’n Crunch with Crunch Berries in front of the TV watching Saturday morning cartoons, this ejuice is going to take you right back there.

Deluxe Ejuice offers Crunch Berries in 10 ml, 15 ml, 30 ml and 120 ml bottles for $6.99, $7.99, $9.99 and $33.99 respectively. Nicotine levels are 0 MG, 3 MG, 6 MG, 12 MG, 18 MG or 24 MG. Deluxe Ejuice offers a wide range of PG/VG ratios.

I vaped Crunch Berries in a VaporFi Volt Hybrid Tank powered by a VaporFi VOX II 50 watt mod. Deluxe Ejuice provided the bottle of Crunch Berries I sampled for the purpose of this review.
