I’ve talked about my affinity for custard ejuices before. Matter of fact, it was during the course of a review for another flavor from Deluxe Ejuice, their Sweet Strawberry Custard. I’m a big fan of custard, the food and the ejuice.

Custard is akin to pudding, but generally a good deal thicker, richer and smoother. At least the American variety of custard. This is largely due to the presence of egg in custard as a thickening agent, as opposed to the cornstarch usually found in puddings.

I’ve also shared my partiality to vanilla. That delightful taste is the most often used flavor in ice cream, pastries and confections. And it’s the second most expensive spice in the world, right after saffron.

So for me, the combination of the creamy rich consistency of custard with the lightly sweet flavor of vanilla is almost a no-brainer. That is, as long as you get them both right. And that seems to be harder than it sounds. I’ve tried quite few vanilla custard ejuices. Where most of them go wrong is in being too rich or too sweet. It seems like some mixologists don’t trust the subtle nuance of vanilla and over flavor their ejuice to compensate.

Not so with Deluxe Ejuice Vanilla Custard. The official description reads, “Our vanilla custard is a must try for any vaper, regardless if you only like tobaccos, menthol or fruits. It’s very creamy with a mouthful of flavor that tingles all of your senses from head to toe. Our custard is also a great flavor to mix with any other eliquids you may have. Nothing compares to a smooth and sweet creamy, full bodied ejuice.”

The Numbers As Tested

Nicotine Level      6 MG
PG/VG Ratio        30/70

I haven’t tried mixing Vanilla Custard with any other flavor, to me it’s plenty good on its own. (Though the Deluxe Ejuice Sweet Strawberry Custard does start with a vanilla custard base.)

Vanilla Custard starts with that lightly sweet, complex vanilla flavor on the inhale. There’s just a hint of the added richness of custard. On the exhale the vanilla remains along with a smooth, custardy richness.

The vapor is rich, smooth and a little on the warm side. The throat hit is light. Vanilla Custard has a warm, slightly sweet vanilla aroma.

DEJ vanilla custard logoThe Deluxe Ejuice Vanilla Custard has become one of my favorite vanilla flavored ejuices. It’s a little lighter than most of the other custard style ejuices I’ve tried. But for me, that’s fine. A lot of custard ejuices are a little too rich for me to vape all day. I found Vanilla Custard to be full bodied enough to satisfy, but not so overwhelming that I had to put it down for something lighter half way through the day. I vaped it for several days, all day and enjoyed it more the longer I vaped it. It’s especially good with a cup of coffee, and the vanilla flavor stands up to that hot black coffee that I favor.

Deluxe Ejuice offers Vanilla Custard in 10, 15, 30 and 120 ml bottles for $6.99, $7.99, $9.99 and $33.99. You can order it with nicotine levels of 0 MG, 1.5 MG, 3 MG, 6 MG, 12 MG, 18 MG or 24 MG. And Deluxe Ejuice will mix it for you in a pretty wide range of PG/VG ratios.

I vaped Vanilla Custard in a SMOK TFV4 tank on an Asmodus Snow Wolf 200 watt mod. Deluxe Ejuice provided the bottle of Vanilla Custard I tested for the purpose of this review.
