Pros

  • Simple operation
  • Works with 3 types of cartridges

Cons

  • Very tight draw
  • Ships with only one type of cartridge
  • A little pricey for its performance

When the V2 Pro Series 3 kit first came a few years ago it was pretty cutting edge. One of its most unique features is still rather rare, the ability to easily swap out tanks for vaping different materials; ejuice, dry herbs and concentrates.

This was the first product our friends at Toronto Vaporizer sent for review. They still carry and sell it and beginning vapers are still giving it fairly strong reviews.

Operation of the Pro Series 3 is very simple. Unscrew the top of the tank at the drip tip and fill the tank with ejuice. Reattach the drip tip and pop the tank into the Pro Series 3 battery with the small circle on the tank aligned with the notch in the battery. It’s held in there magnetically. The drip tip is the only part of the V2 Pro Series 3 that has threads.

Press the fire button three time to turn the unit on or off. Then simply press the fire button and inhale to vape.V2 also includes a charging cable which also attaches to the battery magnetically. And you can continue to vape while the device is charging.

There are two narrow windows on the battery so you can view the ejuice level in the 1.6 ml capacity tank.

The processor in the battery will recognize which type of cartridge or tank you have attached; ejuice, dry herb or concentrate, and react accordingly. The LED will flash white while charging and turn green when the battery is fully charged. They also light up white when you’re vaping. When they begin a series of double blinks it’s time to charge the unit.

What’s In The Box

  • 1 X Pro Series 3 ejuice cartridge
  • 1 X Pro Series 3 battery
  • 1 X Charging cable
  • 1 X User’s manual

Performance: The V2 Pro Series 3 is a basic, no-frills device aimed at new vapers. It does what it claims and does it with an elegant simplicity. Vapor and flavor output from the Pro Series 3 is satisfactory, especially for someone just getting introduced to vaping. But make no mistake, this is not a device for someone interested in huge clouds are deep, full flavor.

The draw on the Pro Series 3 is very tight and there is no adjustment on the airflow. It’s quite a bit tighter than that of an analog cigarette. In fact, this is the tightest draw on any device I’ve ever used.

Features: The most significant feature of the Pro Series 3 is optional, the ability to use the device to vape ejuice, dry herbs or concentrates. You need a specific tank for each material and only the ejuice tank, or cartridge, is included with the kit. The other major feature is the simplicity of use of the V2 Pro Series 3, down to the magnetic connections of the cartridges and charging cable.

Quality: This is pretty high quality device. The fire button is solid, with a nice audible “click” when you press it. The LED behind the fire button and at the base of the battery are easy to see and give you a heads up when the batter needs charging.

The brushed aluminum of the battery and stainless steel and glass of the tank are solid. The whole thing is put together very nicely. The magnetic connections are strong. And the only threads on the V2 Pro Series 3, at the drip tip, are smooth.

Looks: Toronto Vaporize offers the V2 Pro Series 3 in three colors; black, silver or blue. Each is rich and looks good. The logo pops nicely in contrast to the color of the unit. And the thin, cylindrical shape gives this device an elegant look.

Price/Value: Toronto Vaporizer lists the V2 Pro Series 3 for $59.99 U.S. dollars ($69.99 Canadian) and the replacement ejuice cartridges for $7.99 U.S. dollars each ($11.99 Canadian). When the Pro Series 3 was first released that probably wasn’t a terrible price. But Toronto Vaporizer also lists the Eleaf iStick 60W TC for the same price (see our first look at that unit here), and that unit is much more versatile for ejuice and performs much better.

But if you’re just starting out, or are intrigued by the possibility of vaping ejuice, dry herbs and/or concentrates with the same device, then the V2 Pro Series 3 might be what you’ve been looking for. Just keep in mind that you’ll need a tank specific to the material you want to vape.

Toronto Vaporize supplied the V2 Pro Series 3 for the purpose of this review.
