Cons

  • Strawberry flavor a little subdued

Just as Prince Prospero is surprised and eventually overtaken by the character masquerading as the Red Death in Edgar Allan Poe’s tale, we were surprised by this ejuice from Skull & Raven named for the story Masque Of The Red Death, albeit pleasantly surprised and with a much more fortuitus end than that of Prospero.

Our policy on ejuice reviews is to vape at least two tanks over the course of several days before writing the review. That gives us ample opportunity to develop a full appreciation for each flavor, and it gives the ejuice a chance to grow on us. Such was the case with Masque Of The Red Death. Like Poe’s character who led the revelers in Prospero’s castle through those seven rooms, Masque Of The Red Death drew us further in with each vaping session. The three flavors blend and compliment each other nicely.

Skull & Raven describes Masque Of The Read Death, “This flavor incorporates a fruity splash of strawberry and cherry with a crisp and bold red wine flavor, offering a taste good enough to die for.”

The Numbers As Tested

Nicotine Level     24 MG
PG/VG Ratio     50/50

The Masque Of The Red Death has a light to medium body with just a slightly tangy effect. The red wine and cherry are the predominant flavors, the strawberry is barely noticeable, but does provide a refreshing, yet not overpowering, sweetness and juiciness to the taste mixture. The throat hit is mild and the aroma is light and pleasant.

The combination of the fruit and wine tastes makes Masque Of The Red Death especially enjoyable after a meal. And like a fine wine, this ejuice is best when sipped, allowing the complexity of the flavor to linger over your taste buds.

Skull & Raven offers Masque Of The Red Death in 15 ml, 30 ml and 60 ml sizes for $8, $15 and $28 respectively. Available nicotine levels are 12 MG, 18 MG and 24 MG. All of Skull & Raven’s ejuices are mixed in a 50/50 kosher food grade PG/VG ratio and include natural flavor extracts. We tested Masque Of The Red Death in a Kangertech Aerotank Mega powered by an Innokin MVP 2. Skull & Raven provided the bottle we sampled for the purpose of this review.
