Kangertech is known, and respected, for its excellent tanks and coils. Many vapers got their introduction to vaping on a Kanger EVOD tank and starter kit. And Kanger continues to be at the forefront of tank and coil innovation with its recent introduction of the hybrid Subtank line which features sub ohm OCC coils and an RBA base that fits in the tank.  No matter your experience level or preference, chances are you can find a Kangertech line of tanks to suit you.

Technically a member of the Aerotank line, the EMOW tank is wedged between the EVOD and the more sophisticated Aerotanks with their variable airflow. What qualifies the EMOW as an Aerotank is its variable airflow system. The airflow control base has five holes or ports. You rotate the collar to reveal or cover more of the ports. The more that are revealed or open the more air that flows into the tank.

The EMOW is related to the EVOD tanks in that it can’t be completed disassembled. The base, which holds the coil, comes off for filling, replacing the coil and cleaning the tank. But the top is permanently attached. The drip tip is removable and replaceable. The EMOW will hold 1.8 ml of ejuice. The tank itself is made of Pyrex.

What’s In The Box

  • 1 X EMOW Tank
  • 1 X Kangertech BDC (bottom dual coil) 1.5 ohm coil (installed)

Performance: The variable airflow of the EMOW elevates the performance of this tank far beyond that of the Kanger EVODs, to which it is closely related. You’re able to personalize your vaping experience from a really tight warm draw to a very airy cooler draw depending on how wide you open the airflow. And the EMOW uses the same BDC coils that work in both the EVOD and Aerotank lines.

Features: The EMOW is either a feature rich variation of the EVOD line or a feature poor variation of the Aerotank line. The rest of the Aerotanks can be completely disassembled, as can Kanger’s Protank series. The advantage to that is two-fold. First, if any piece of the tank breaks you can replace it without throwing away the entire tank. Second, it makes it a lot easier to clean the tank when you’re changing flavors of ejuice. But the addition of the adjustable airflow system puts the EMOW several steps above the EVOD and, in my opinion, even above the Protank line. I’ll trade being able to take a tank fully apart for the ability to adjust airflow any day.

Kanger includes only one coil with the EMOW, perhaps in an effort to keep the price as low as possible, but an extra coil is always a nice feature. The EMOW is available in white, black, red, blue, silver, green and multi-colored, so you can choose one that will look good sitting atop just about any mod.

Quality: This is a Kanger tank, so it’s pretty solid. The adjustable airflow system is easy to operate and adjustments are smooth. And it makes use of the Kanger BDC coils, which are available in several different ohms ratings. My experience with these coils is that they produce lots of vapor and have a decent life span.

EMOW Screen GrabLooks: The EMOW is a good looking tank with vibrant, glossy colors. It’s wider and shorter than the EVOD with wider windows so it’s easy to see just how much ejuice is in the tank. Both the Kangertech and EMOW logos really pop against those rich colors. The stainless steel of the adjustable airflow base gives the EMOW a very contemporary look.

Price/Value: The EMOW is just about the lowest priced tank with adjustable airflow that I’m aware of. And that adjustable airflow, combined with the quality of the Kanger coils, makes the EMOW a bargain. American eLiquid Store lists the Kanger Aerotank EMOW at $20.99.

I’ve been using the EMOW pretty extensively for almost two weeks and have been very pleased with it. It produces vapor that’s comparable to its more expensive Aerotank brothers. And it really looks sharp, especially sitting on the Eleaf iJust D16 in white. If you’re ready to make the leap to an adjustable airflow tank and you’re on a budget, then the EMOW would be your best choice.
