About a week ago word began coming out that Kangertech was finally ready to release a temperature control mod. I’ve known this was coming for months, but was sworn to secrecy, and Kanger hadn’t provided many details to Seven Report.
Details are still a little hard to come by, and as far as I know no review product has shipped yet, but Kanger assures me Seven Report will be receiving one soon.
Here’s what is known, the unit will be called the NEBOX. Not only is it temperature control but it has a built in 10 ml tank. In that way it’s similar to the Joyetech eGrip. And like the eGrip it may be difficult to thoroughly clean that built in tank when you want to change your ejuice.
The NEBOX is a variable wattage mod with a maximum output of 60 watts. It will ship with a pre-installed Ni200 coil and will also accept what Kanger is now calling an SSOCC, for stainless steel organic cotton coil. But it appears these coils are not the same Kanger coils that fit the Subtank line.
It will fire the Ni200 coils and SSOCC coils down to 0.15 ohm. It will also come with a Mini RBA Plus. Power is supplied by an a replaceable 18650 battery which can be charged while it’s in the device via a micro USB port.
Kanger is currently riding pretty high on the success of their SUBOX line, including the Mini and Nano. It’s nice to see that with their entry into the temperature control arena they’ve decided to introduce a new line, unlike Eleaf which is branding its temperature control mods under the existing iStick label.
That’s pretty much all I know at the moment about the NEBOX. I hope to have one in hand before too long. When I do receive one it’ll get the standard series of First Look and in-depth review pieces on Seven Report. If you follow Seven Report on Twitter or Facebook you’ll find out way when those pieces are live.
