Cheesecake is an ancient delicacy, dating as far back as ancient Greece. A recipe for an early version of cheesecake appeared in the oldest work of Latin prose, written around 160 BC. But it would be more than 2,000 years before the recipe could be perfected. It took the development of cream cheese in 1872. That would pave the way for the invention of the best tasting type of cheesecake, New York style.
New York style cheesecake is rich, dense and creamy. Many places claim to serve New York style cheesecake, but the further away from New York you get the iffier that description gets. Cheesecake sold in other parts of the country tend to be less rich, less dense and somewhat over sweetened.
I grew up and lived the majority of my life in the greater New York City area, so I know authentic New York style cheesecake. Your best bet for anything approaching the consistency of the real thing outside of New York will be found in Jewish delicatessens.

On the inhale New York Cheesecake has a slightly sweet taste, with just a hint of vanilla. There’s a light note of cream on the exhale. The overall flavor is rich, and smooth. And the vapor has that rich consistency. It’s creamy and a little warm and the throat hit is mild. The aroma is rich as well with the essence of vanilla.
I’ve vaped a few cheesecake based ejuices, but all have been mixed with a fruit flavor. Now I enjoy a fruit garnish on my cheesecake from time to time. But the true test of a good cheesecake is how it stands up on its own, without hiding behind a secondary taste. And the same goes for ejuice.
It’s a bold move by Alternate Cig to market a stand alone cheesecake flavor. Their New York Cheesecake isn’t an exact taste match, but it’s pretty close, as close as I’ve ever vaped. I vaped New York Cheesecake for several days. It’s full bodied flavor really stood up to a cup of coffee, just like a slice of New York style cheesecake.
