First Look: Eleaf iStick TC40W

Eleaf has released their first temperature control mod, the iStick TC40W. And since that release they’ve come out with a 60 watt version. GearBest sent the iStick TC40W for a Seven Report review.

The TC40W maintains the family resemblance of the rest of the iStick line. In fact, it’s strikingly similar in appearance and dimensions to the original 20 watt iStick. It includes an internal 2600 mAh battery which can be charged with the included micro USB cable. And you can continue vaping while the mod is charging.

iStick 40W TC boxThe temperature range on the iStick TC40W is 200 – 600° F and 100 – 315° C. It has a variable wattage range of 1 – 40 watts. In variable wattage mode it’s capable of firing coils from 0.15 – 3.5 ohm. In temperature control mode it will fire nickel coils with resistances of 0.05 – 1.0 ohm.

There are four buttons on the iStick TC40W, the fire button, increase and decrease buttons and, located between the increase and decrease buttons, what Eleaf calls the menu button. To switch between variable wattage and temperature modes you hold in the menu button.

In temperature mode it shows watts and selected temperature. You can flip the orientation of the display 180° by holding in the increase and decrease buttons at the same time while the device is turned off. The mod is available in black, silver, grey or blue.

I’ll be using he Eleaf iStick TC40W mod extensively for the next week or so and then come back with a full, in-depth review. If you follow Seven Report on Twitter or Facebook you’ll be notified that way when the review is live.
