crunchberry box 02Cap’n Crunch cereal has been around since 1963, and Cap’n Crunch with Crunchberries came along in 1967. But the original flavor inspiration for this cereal goes back to an even earlier date. The woman who developed the taste we now love as Cap’n Crunch was Pamela Low, a flavorist who worked for a consulting firm. She based the flavor on a childhood treat her grandmother used to make for her. It was a brown sugar and butter recipe eaten over rice. Low referred to the quality of that flavor as “want-more-ishness.”

That’s an apt description for the cereal. I can barely keep a box in my house longer than a day, and the youngest person living with me is 25! That description also works for Smooth Talker ejuice from Royal Heights Vapor. I had to keep the bottle of Smooth Talker they sent me for this review hidden away to ensure I’d actually have enough to test. Everyone in my house vapes and loves Cap’n Crunch with Crunchberries.

The Royal Heights Vapor website describes Smooth Talker ejuice as, “A smooth, rich and creamy vanilla dessert with undertones of strawberry. Smooth Talker has been said to resemble Captain Crunchberry. This is a crowd-pleaser that will have you coming back for more!”

The Numbers As Tested

Nicotine Level     6 MG
PG/VG Ratio       40/60

Smooth Talker is a creamy smooth, almost buttery vape. It’s sweet with hints of vanilla and cream on the inhale. But there’s something in there that’s a little darker too, something akin to the brown sugar that inspired the original Cap’n Crunch. On the exhale there’s the addition of a strawberry undertone. Here’s where having multiple vapers in the house comes in handy. I had three other people take a few vapes of Smooth Talker, without letting them know the flavor description. Only one immediately picked out the strawberry, and she said it was a little too strong. The rest, including me, thought the strawberry was a tad understated, but it was definitely in there and added to the sweetness and overall experience of vaping Smooth Talker.

The vapor itself is very smooth and a little warm. Smooth Talker has a mild throat hit. Its aroma is warm and sweet with hints of vanilla, cream and sweet strawberries. The overall effect is very close to that of a bowl of Cap’n Crunch with Crunchberries.

RHV Smooth Talker bottleI vaped Smooth Talker for about two days, trying my hardest to make it last and keep it hidden from the other vapers in my house. But it does have that “want-more-ishness” quality, so the bottle went pretty quickly. It’s a thoroughly enjoyable vape any time of day. If you’re a fan of sweet ejuice that’s reminiscent of your favorite cereal, you’re really going to enjoy Smooth Talker, so much so that you probably should order at least two bottles.

Royal Heights Vapor offers Smooth Talker in 30 ml glass dripper bottles for $21.99. Available nicotine levels are 0 MG, 3 MG, 6 MG, 12 MG and 18 MG. All of Royal Heights Vapor ejuices are mixed in a 40/60 PG/VG ratio.

I vaped Smooth Talker in a Kangertech Subtank Plus on an Eleaf iStick 50 Watt mod. Royal Heights Vapor provided the bottle of Smooth Talker I sampled for the purpose of this review.
