The first time I tried sherbet I was probably five or six. We’d gone out for a fancy dinner with another family, at Howard Johnson’s. After dinner the waitress came back to see if we wanted dessert. One of the kids in the other family, a boy a few years older than I was, ordered sherbet, though he pronounced it “sherbert.”

What’s sherbert?” I asked. “It’s kind of like ice cream, except it’s not,” he answered. So I ordered some, even with that lackluster explanation.

rainbow 01The International Dairy Foods Association defines sherbet as having “a milkfat content of between 1 percent and 2 percent, and a slightly higher sweetener content than ice cream…flavored either with fruit or other characterizing ingredients.”

Rainbow sherbet was made possible by Emanuel Goren’s invention of a three nozzle dispenser in the early 1950s, making it possible to fill containers with three different flavors, giving the sherbet a rainbow effect.

NovaVapes defines NovaJuice’s Rainbow Dust ejuice as, “a complex juice that gains its roots from rainbow sherbet. A distinct and unique taste, Rainbow Dust offers a different vaping experience and a variety of different tastes on inhale and exhale. For something different and an all round great juice, Rainbow Dust is just fantastic!”

The Numbers As Tested

Nicotine Level       3 MG
PG/VG Ratio           30/70

There is no standard for what flavors are in rainbow sherbet, or rainbow sherbet flavored ejuice. But most the brands I found include raspberry and orange. Some also include lime, lemon-lime or pineapple.

NovaJuice doesn’t specify the exact flavors in Rainbow Dust, but on the inhale there’s definitely some orange and raspberry with something else in the citrus family. The exhale really highlights that sweet raspberry.

Rainbow Dust produces a cool, smooth vapor with a mild throat hit. The aroma is fruity and sweet, very much like a bowl of cold rainbow sherbet.

Rainbow Dust bottleI’ve been vaping Rainbow Dust for a couple of days, and it’s a delightful flavor. Just sweet enough with a hint of that sherbet stickiness. It’s a refreshing, well blended vape. If you enjoy fruity sweet ejuice, Rainbow Dust should become a favorite.

NovaVapes offers Rainbow Dust in 30 ml bottles for $8.69 and 100 ml bottles for $20.69. Available nicotine levels are 0 MG, 3 MG, 6 MG, 9 MG, 12 MG, 15 MG and 18 MG. NovaJuice Rainbow Dust comes in a variety of PG/VG ratios: 30/70, 40/60, 50/50, 20/80 and Max VG.

I vaped Rainbow Dust in an Arymi Gille Tank on a Kangertech KBOX 200. NovaVapes provided the bottle of Rainbow Dust I sampled for the purpose of this review.
