Cons

  • Pastry flavor dominates, especially at lower power settings

Pity the poor pie. In the pastry world the pie seems to always play second fiddle to the cake. Think of any festive occasion, a cake is almost always central to the celebration. Wedding cake, birthday cake. At office gatherings in the conference room to celebrate a co-worker’s promotion or retirement there’s always a cake. It’s never a pie. Except for my brother, who so loved pumpkin pie that he always asked for one instead of a cake for his birthday, but he’s the exception that proves the rule.

Pumpkin pie does play a role in most Thanksgiving meals, the one day on the calendar, at least in America, where pie actually outshines cake. Then there’s Little Jack Horner and his mysterious Christmas pie. Cherry pie has a tenuous connection to George Washington’s birthday, but since Congress welded that founding father’s day into President’s Day the cherry pie has lost some of its standing.

Enter Stella Blues Vapors and their Grandma’s Goods ejuice. OK, maybe the name doesn’t give you much of an idea as to what to expect from this ejuice. But the official description sums it up nicely, “Grandma’s Goods is a freshly baked apple pie flavored e-liquid. Vape it in front of your grandma and she’ll think you snatched her pie from the window sill.” Grandma’s Goods not only smells like fresh baked apple pie, it tastes like it too.

The Numbers As Tested

Nicotine Level     24 MG
PG/VG Ratio      45/55

The flavor of Grandma’s Goods is mild, almost delicate. But that apple taste comes through with just a hint of sweetness and, especially on the exhale something that is almost certainly a dash of cinnamon. What is unmistakable about Grandma’s Goods is the taste of the pie crust. In fact on the inhale that pastry taste gives the apple a real fight for dominance, especially on lower wattage settings. The aroma, while also mild, is most definitely that of an apple pie just moments out of the oven.

Grandma’s Goods has a mild throat hit and a cool, light, though plentiful vapor. The combination of all of those mild elements may make you wonder if your coil is firing properly, that is, until you exhale and catch that tease of cinnamon and cloud of vapor. Because this is such a mild, yet enjoyable ejuice, it’s well suited for all day vaping. And that flavor sneaks up on you, at least it did me. I found myself vaping it more often just to get one more taste of this delightful ejuice. Grandma’s Goods has managed to elevate the pie, at least in the bakery flavored ejuice world, to a level that will compete favorably with any cake.

Grandma’s Goods is available from Stella Blues Vapors in 15 ml, 30 ml and 50 ml sizes for $9, $15 and $23 respectively. The 15 ml and 30 ml are also available in glass bottles for an additional $2. Nicotine levels are from 0 MG to 24 MG in even numbered increments. All of Stella Blues Vapors ejuices come in a 45/55 PG/VG ratio, except for the Sub Ohm Line. Stella Blues Vapors also offers caffeine shots in their ejuices; you can add a single shot for $1 or a double shot for $2. We tested Grandma’s Goods in a Kangertech Aerotank Mega powered by an Innokin iTaste MVP 2. Stella Blues Vapors provided the bottle we sampled for the purpose of this review.
