First Look: VaporFi VOX TC 50 Watt Mod
VaporFi is extending its line of high quality VOX mods, adding two new temperature control models, the VOX TC and the VOX 100 TC. These new temperature control versions join the VOX II and the VOX Mini. VaporFi sent the VOX TC 50 watt mod for a Seven Report review.
The VaporFi VOX TC has a temperature range of 200° – 600° F in 10° increments. It’s wattage range is 5 – 50 watts in 0.1 watt increments. It will accept coils from 0.5 ohm to 2.5 ohm. Tanks attach to the VOX TC via the spring loaded 510 connector.
An 18650 battery powers the VaporFi VOX TC, and VaporFi supplies the battery. You can charge the battery while it’s still in the device via the micro USB port and charging cable that is also supplied. And you can continue to vape while the battery is charging.
When you first attach a tank to the VOX TC, or swap out the coil in a tank, VaporFi suggests you set the resistance by holding in the fire button and “-” buttons at the same time.
To change the power or temperature settings and switch between temperature control and variable wattage modes on the VOX TC you press the “+” and “-” buttons at the same time to enter the menu. That will display “Working Mode.” Press the fire button to enter the next level of the menu which allows you choose which mode the VOX TC will operate in. Press the “+” or “-” buttons to switch between “Temp” and “Power,” then press the fire button to select one.
To adjust the temperature press both the “+” and “-” buttons and at the “Working Mode” screen press the “+” or “-” button to display “Temp Adjust” and then press the fire button. This will display the temperature and you adjust it with the “+” or “-” button. Once you’ve reached your desired temperature press the fire button to set it. You adjust wattage on the main screen with the “+” and “-” buttons.
The VOX TC also has a locking feature. Press the “+” and the fire button to lock or unlock the device. In lock mode the VOX TC will not fire or allow you to change any temperature or power settings.
I put a Kangertech Subtank Plus Black Edition with a Ni 200 on the VOX TC and filled the tank with VaporFi Grand Reserve Catch Ya Latte premium ejuice. My first vape was at 400° and it provided a rich, full amount of vapor. At 350° the vapor was noticeably cooler, as you’d expect, but the output was still substantial. And at 450° it was warmer and slightly more flavorful.
I’ll be using the VaporFi VOX TC mod pretty extensively over the next week or so and then come back with a full, in-depth review. If you follow Seven Report on Twitter or Facebook you’ll find out that way when I’ve posted that review.
VaporFi features a 30-Day money back guarantee and a 90-day warranty on the VOX TC.
