  • Dark roast flavor may not be for everyone

Coffee is a tough flavor for ejuice makers to get right. At least that’s been my experience. When you add the complexity of flavored coffee, well even many coffee makers have a tough time with that. Especially when they try adding flavor to the beans themselves. Folgers, Maxwell House, even Gevalia haven’t quite mastered it. Sure, those coffees have the distinct aroma of the added flavor, but for the most part the taste has eluded them. Those flavored coffees never taste quite as good when you’re making them at home as they do when you get them at a coffee shop. That’s probably because those shops add a shot (or two or more) of the flavor syrup to the coffee after it’s brewed.

So while I was very excited to see a coffee flavored ejuice in the most recent shipment from Stella Blues Vapors, after reading the official description I was a little skeptical. “Rich black caramel coffee beanz.” But after a few hits of Coffee Beanz, my skepticism melted away on the smooth coffee flavor with a hint of caramel. Stella Blues Vapors had done it again, another wonderfully tasty ejuice that lives up to its name.

The Numbers As Tested

Nicotine Level     24 MG
PG/VG Ratio     45/55

The flavor of Coffee Beanz is dark and full-bodied, but that hint of caramel smooths it out, taking any potential coffee bitterness out of it. Be warned though, make sure your coil is fully saturated before you start vaping Coffee Beanz (or pretty much any coffee flavored ejuice) or you’re likely to experience a burnt taste, sort of like a Starbucks dark blend that’s been accidentally roasted two or three times. And the aroma is like fresh brewed coffee, which only adds to the authenticity of the entire experience. The vapor is smooth and full bodied and provides a pretty decent throat hit.

I drink coffee pretty much all day long, so I found Coffee Beanz enjoyable anytime of the day. It’s especially good with a cup of coffee, and no, that’s not overkill. This ejuice does have a dark roast quality to it, so if you’re not a fan of the type of coffee you get at Starbucks, Coffee Beanz may be a little on the strong side for you. But if you like your coffee strong, then you’re going to really enjoy Coffee Beanz.

Coffee Beanz is available from Stella Blues Vapors in 15 ml, 30 ml and 50 ml sizes for $9, $15 and $23 respectively. The 15 ml and 30 ml are also available in glass bottles for an additional $2. Nicotine levels are from 0 MG to 24 MG in even numbered increments. All of Stella Blues Vapors ejuices come in a 45/55 PG/VG ratio, except for the Sub Ohm Line. Stella Blues Vapors also offers caffeine shots in their ejuices; you can add a single shot for $1 or a double shot for $2. We tested Coffee Beanz in a Kangertech Aerotank Mega powered by an Innokin iTaste MVP 2. Stella Blues Vapors provided the bottle we sampled for the purpose of this review.
