Tobacco is an acquired tasted. So much so that it’s a wonder anyone ever has a second cigarette. But once you’ve acquired that taste tobacco can be very pleasing. I smoked tobacco cigarettes for over 40 years. And when I first started vaping the first ejuice I tried was a tobacco flavor. So was my second ejuice. And my third.

Eventually I moved on to coffee, dessert, candy and fruit flavored ejuices. But I’d go back to the tobacco flavors from time to time. Though my use of tobacco flavors got fewer and further between as I discovered the fuller range of tastes available. And it seemed that the longer I was away from tobacco flavors, the less pleasing they were. I still enjoyed them, still do. It’s just that I vape them much less frequently now.

When I first tried Renegade ejuice, one of the new Premium line of flavors from Dura Smoke, it was unmistakably a tobacco based flavor. And, to be quite honest, on first try I was not blown away. But the policy here at Seven Report is to vape an ejuice for several days before reaching a final decision and doing a review. Good policy. The more I vaped Renegade, the more it grew on me.

The Dura Smoke website describes Renegade simply as, “Bold tobacco flavor with a hint of cream.” The description on the American eLiquid Store website is little wordier, “Tired of the same old tobacco taste that’s been replicated time and time again? Renegade is like no other tobacco flavor that you’ve ever vaped before, combining all of the greatest tobacco tastes into a brand new paradigm of rich, hearty vapor. It’s rich, bold, edgy and full of flavor, not to mention it packs a throat hit that you can get behind. Tobacco vapers, this one’s for you: because there’s nothing like experiencing a new take on traditional tobacco flavors.”

The Numbers As Tested

Nicotine Level     6 MG
PG/VG Ratio      0/100

Renegade has a bold, rich taste. This is definitely a tobacco based ejuice. But there’s something extra in there that mellows it just a little and adds a layer of creamy sweetness. Must be that hint of cream the Dura Smoke website mentions. The flavor is consistent on the inhale and the exhale. As with many tobacco flavored ejuices, there is a slight aftertaste, a lingering tobacco taste, but it’s much milder with Renegade then with other tobacco ejuices. And again, that hint of cream mellows the after taste like it does the overall experience.

Renegade bottle flashThe vapor is rich and creamy, much more so than with any other tobacco ejuice I’ve vaped. And there’s plenty of vapor. The throat hit is well within the medium range. The aroma has just the slightest note of sweetness, but otherwise it’s pure tobacco. That may be somewhat objectionable to some, especially to non-vaping, non-smoking bystanders, so be considerate with where you vape Renegade.

I vaped Renegade for more than two days, and each tank was more enjoyable than the one before it. Like a good cigarette, Renegade is especially enjoyable with a cup of coffee and after a meal. If you enjoy tobacco based ejuices, then Renegade has to go to the top of your list of “must try” ejuices.

Renegade is available in 30 ml glass bottles for $20.99 from American eLiquid Store. You can order it with nicotine levels of 0, 3, 6, 12, 18 and 24 MG. All of Dura Smoke Premium ejuices come in a 100% VG mix. American eLiquid Store provided the bottle of Renegade that I sampled for the purpose of this review. I vaped Renegade in a Kangertech Subtank Nano powered by an Eleaf iStick 50W.
