If you’ve read many of the reviews on Seven Report or watched the videos on the You Tube channel you probably know that I’m a coffee lover. I’m not exactly what you would call a coffee snob, I’ll drink a cup of gas station coffee as often as one of those fancy coffees from a shop where the guy making it has six degrees and is called a barista. I can tell the difference between a good cup of coffee and a not so good cup and I can detect the subtle nuances that mark beans raised in different parts of the world or that have been roasted differently.

Since I started vaping I’ve been searching for an ejuice that replicates the flavor of my go to drink, a simple cup of medium roast black coffee. When the folks at Cloud Chemistry Vapor approached me about reviewing some of their ejuices they asked what types of flavors I enjoyed and I told them about my quest to find that black coffee ejuice.

They told me that they didn’t have a medium black coffee flavor but that they would try “putting together a sweet new mix to achieve that taste, just for you.” So they set their top mixologists loose on the task. A little while later they came back and said that they couldn’t get it quite bitter enough to pass for a black coffee since their strongest coffee flavor was rather sweet. But what they did come up with was a new flavor that was “extremely pleasant and a satisfying vape.”

That flavor is Mocha Latte, and Cloud Chemistry Vapor has just added it to their menu. The official description reads, “Wake n’ Vape with this crisp blend of mocha espresso and cream. With just the right sweetness and smooth inhale, you just might find yourself reaching for the biscotti.”

Mocha Latte is no black coffee ejuice, but it makes no pretense of being one, so that search continues. What Mocha Latte is, is an extremely authentic mocha latte flavored ejuice, and that is an achievement that’s tougher than it sounds. Allow me to share a little insight into the finer distinctions of coffee drinks.

Espresso forms the base for many of the drinks you’ll find at those fancy coffee shops. And it’s an extremely strong, usually very dark roasted and finely ground coffee. You can order plain espresso, but it’s really an acquired taste. A cappuccino is made with one third espresso, one third steamed milk and one third frothed milk. It’s also often served with added flavoring.

A latte is made of about one fourth espresso and three fourths steamed milk. Like cappuccino, lattes are also often served with added flavorings. A latte is not as strong as an espresso or even a cappuccino. It’s a fine distinction, and many people think a latte and a cappuccino are basically the same drink, but they are most definitely not. And the mixologists at Cloud Chemistry Vapor seem to be well aware of that.

On the inhale Mocha Latte greets your taste buds with a smooth combination of flavors, silky mocha, a hint of cream and lurking in the background a robust coffee. On the exhale that taste combination remains intact, slightly dark, a little sweet, smooth and delicious.

mocha latte bottleThe vapor of Mocha Latte is on the warm side and, largely thanks to the mocha and cream, smooth and silky. The throat hit is a little lighter than you might expect from an ejuice with an espresso base. The aroma is pleasantly complex with notes of coffee and mocha.

Many of the coffee based ejuices I’ve tried seem to overdo the espresso, and they taste too darkly roasted, at least to my liking. Mocha Latte walks up to that line, but doesn’t cross it. I can tell there’s espresso in there, but it doesn’t overpower the other flavors. I vaped it for several days and never felt the need to take a break from it, I can’t say that about many coffee ejuices. In fact, with its finely blended mix of flavors, I may have found my new favorite coffee based ejuice.

I vaped Mocha Latte in a Kangertech Subtank Plus Black Edition on an Asmodus Snow Wolf 200 watt temperature control mod. Cloud Chemistry Vapor provided the bottle of Mocha Latte I sampled for the purpose of this review.
