There’s an ancient taste treat that’s enjoying a surge in popularity, horchata. The sweet, creamy drink originated in ancient Egypt using Chufa, or tiger nuts. It made its way across Europe to Spain and eventually to Mexico and Central America. Chufa is hard to come by in Mexico, so they began making horchata with rice.

This version also has vanilla and cinnamon. Legend has it that the name came about when James of Aragon had some for the first time and said, “Açò ės xata!” Which translates “That’s gold, darling!” The “xata” became the root for the word horchata.

horchata-glass 01Alternate Cig has a horchata flavored ejuice called Milk Of The Gods in their Vapors Anonymous label, a gourmet line of unique blends of flavor infusions. The flavor description of Milk Of The Gods says, “This juice tastes like the famous Mexican drink, horchata with a hint of caramel and our secret nectar potion.”

The full description reads, “A splash of flavor from the drink beholden to the gods as sacred! For millions of years this drink has enriched the youth and has revitalized the elder. The gods have once again given us an extraordinary drink to quench our thirst and better yet, our vape. A creamy cinnamon flavored rice milk passing to your lips and touching the tip of your tongue is something your taste buds will crave. Experience a flavor made for the gods.”

The Numbers As Tested

Nicotine Level      6 MG
PG/VG Ratio            50/50

Milk Of The Gods has a slightly sweet inhale with notes of cinnamon and vanilla. The exhale is creamy with a hint of caramel. And there’s something reminiscent of warm rice in there too. The vapor is smooth and a little warm with a mild throat hit. The aroma is light with vanilla and caramel dominating.

Vapors Anon-Milk of GodsI’ve never had the actual drink horchata, but if it’s anywhere near as good as Milk Of The Gods, I’m looking forward to trying it. This is a complex ejuice with just enough cinnamon to provide a little kick to your taste buds, but the vanilla, caramel and rice notes smooth that out so that it’s not overwhelming. This is an ejuice that could easily become habit forming.

I vaped Milk Of The Gods for several days without experiencing any flavor fatigue. If anything, I couldn’t get enough of it and had to force myself to slow down so I’d have enough left for this review. If you’re a fan of creamy smooth, slightly sweet ejuice with a little bit of cinnamon, you really should try Milk Of The Gods.
