First Look: SnowWolf 200 Watt TC Mod
I’ve been waiting for this opportunity for a while, the chance to use a temperature control mod. Temperature control is the latest innovation (at least at the moment that I’m writing this) in vape technology, allowing for even greater personalization of the vape experience than variable wattage/variable voltage mods. GearBest sent an Asmodus SnowWolf 200 watt, variable wattage, temperature control box mod for Seven Report to review.
The SnowWolf is powered by two 18650 batteries (not included) and has a variable wattage of 5.0 – 200 watts. In temperature control mode the SnowWolf will fire between 100° – 350°C or 212° – 662°F. Temperature control mode will only work with nickel coils, and the circuitry in the mode will sense whether your coil is nickel or Kanthal. The SnowWolf will fire coils with resistance ratings of 0.05Ω – 2.5Ω.
You can use just about any 510 threaded tank on the SnowWolf, the connector is spring loaded. Keep in mind that using a standard Kanthal coil will limit you to variable wattage mode, but with up to 200 watts available, that will keep many vapers happy. The large battery compartment is secured via two very strong magnets and the unit has loads of venting to guard against overheating.
Asmodus includes the SnowWolf and comprehensive user’s manual in the package. You’ll need two 18650 batteries and an external battery charger, you can not charge the batteries while they’re in the device.
The SnowWolf is a solid, heavy mod that I’m very much looking forward to using and getting more familiar with . My first vape experience with it has been pretty impressive. One of the benefits of temperature control devices is supposed to be their efficiency in both power and ejuice consumption. I’ll be keeping my eye on that in the next week or so as I prepare a full, in-depth review.
