Seven Report received the newest product from blu, the myblu Starter Kit. blu was founded in 2009 and they were pretty aggressive about marketing, with TV commercials featuring celebrities like Stephen Dorff and Jenny McCarthy. Their earliest products were simple and easy to use. I first started vaping using a blu device.
The company has continued to improve existing products and introduce new ones. Their latest, the myblu Starter Kit, moves away from the traditional blu cigalike look to a more ergonomic, sleek design.
The basic operation however, remains the same. Charge the myblu device before your first use. It comes with a micro USB charger that attaches to the bottom of the device. While charging, the red light on the end of the device will glow red. When the device is fully charged it will go out. blu says that it takes 20 minutes to fully charge the device.
Once it’s charged, click a blu Liquidpod onto the top of the device and you’re ready to vape. Simply inhale. One Liquidpod is included in the package. Mine came with Gold Leaf. There are 8 flavors of blu Liquidpods available; Magnificent Menthol, Gold Leaf, Polar Mint, Blueberry Classic Tobacco, Cherry Crush, Vivid Vanilla and Carolina Bold. They come in packages of two. In this shipment blu included one pack each of Magnificent Menthol, Gold Leaf and Polar Mint.
Each blu Liquidpod contains 1.5 ml of ejuice. Available nicotine levels are 0 MG, 12 MG and 24 MG.
I fully charged the myblu device prior to shooting the video, then I attached the Gold Leaf blu Liquidpod that came in the package and gave it a first vape.
Vapor production of the myblu was actually a little better than I had anticipated. I’m not talking huge clouds here, you’re not going to get that with a device like this, but output was better than I remember from earlier blu devices. Flavor output was very good. The Gold Leaf is a robust tobacco flavor. The draw is a little tight, but again, that’s pretty much what you would expect.
I’ll be using the myblu Starter Kit pretty extensively and then I’ll post a full, in-depth review. Right now blu lists a limited time myblu trial offer. You’ll get a myblu Starter Kit, including a Gold Leaf blu Liquidpod and 2 extra blu Liquidpod refill packs in flavors and nicotine levels of your choice for $15.99, regularly $37.97.
