First Look: Kanger TOPBOX Mini Platinum Edition
Kangertech keeps releasing new hardware. One of the most recent additions is the TOPBOX Mini Platinum Edition. It includes the TOPTANK Mini and the KBOX Mini 75 watt temperature control mod.
The KBOX Mini Platinum Edition is one Kanger’s new temperature control devices that will operate in temperature control mode with a wide variety of coil materials, including Nickel 200, Titanium, Nichrome, Stainless Steel and Kanthal.
The KBOX Mini is powered by a single 18650 battery, not included. You can charge the battery while it’s in the KBOX via the micro USB port and included micro USB cable. It has a wattage range of 7 – 75 watts in increments of 0.1 watts. In temperature control mode it has a range of 100 – 300° C in 5° increments and 200° – 600° F in 10° increments.
The OLED display can be flipped 180° and the power and temperature controls can be locked. The KBOX Mini has a spring loaded 510 connector.
The Kanger TOPTANK Mini is top filling with a 4 ml capacity. It’s packaged with a 0.15 ohm Ni 200 coil, a 0.5 ohm Stainless Steel coil, a 0.5 ohm Clapton coil and an RBA Mini Plus deck. Kangertech also includes a spare pre-wrapped coil, screws, a screwdriver and package of organic cotton for the RBA. The airflow control system has three settings. Kangertech lists the MSRP for the TOPBOX Mini Platinum Edition at $92.90.
I installed the 0.15 ohm Ni 200, filled the TOPTANK Mini with ejuice and attached it to the KBOX Mini and tried a first vape. I tried it at 400° F, 350° F and 450° F at each of the airflow control settings. The flavor really popped, especially at 400° F and 450°.
I’ll be using the TOPBOX Mini Platinum Edition extensively for the next week or so and come back with a full, in-depth review. If you follow Seven Report on Twitter or Facebook you’ll find out that way when that review is live. Thanks to our friends at Kangertech for supplying the unit for a Seven Report review.
