First Look: Asvape Cobra Tank

Asvape is a relatively new manufacturer, established in 2016. They specialize in high end mods and RDAs and tanks. Their website shows more products coming soon. Heaven Gifts sent the Asvape Cobra Tank for Seven Report to review.

The Cobra is a top filler with a 3.8 ml capacity. It ships with two 0.5 ohm Ni80 Cobra coils, an extra Pyrex tank, extra O-rings and an owner’s manual. The coils are rated for 30 – 45 watts.

To replace the coil unscrew the base from the tank, then unscrew the coil from the base. Prime a new coil by dripping a few drops of ejuice directly onto the cotton visible from in the center of the coil. Then reattach the base to the rest of the tank.

The Cobra coils have rows of small ejuice flow ports 360° around the coil. Asvape says this ejuice flow configuration allows the coil to use 100% VG ejuice. To adjust airflow twist the collar at the base of the tank to open or close more of the two airflow ports.

To fill the Cobra, unscrew the top cap and put the tip of your bottle or dripper into one the two fill ports. If you’re using a new coil allow a few minutes for the cotton to get fully saturated before vaping.

I primed the coil and filled the Cobra tank with Dreamz Bar ejuice from Vapes Gone Wild and allowed the coil to soak for about 5 – 7 minutes. With the Cobra attached to a Kangertech KBOX 160 I set the power at 35 watts and fully opened the airflow. Vapor and flavor production were both better than I’d hoped for.

Next I adjusted the airflow to about half way. The cream notes of the ejuice started to pop. Then I took the wattage to 40 watts and the orange flavor of the ejuice became a little more predominant and vapor production increased somewhat. Finally, I increased the power to 42.5 watts. Again, vapor and flavor production were slightly enhanced and the vapor was just a tad warmer.

Overall, for a first vape I was very pleased with the Asvape Cobra tank. I look forward to trying some other flavors in it as well.

I’ll be using the Asvape Cobra tank extensively over the next few weeks and will then post a full, in-depth review. If you follow Seven Report on Twitter or Facebook you’ll find out that way when that review is live.

Heaven Gifts, who supplied the Asvape Cobra tank for review, has it available in black or stainless steel. They show it with a list price of $57.00 but have it available now for $37.99. Find out more about it or order it here.
