First Look: Kangertech K-PIN Kit

Kangertech has released its second product in the AKD Series (Advanced Kangertech Design), the K-PIN Kit. The K-PIN Kit includes the K-PIN battery and tank. It ships with two 0.2 ohm SSOCC Stainless Steel coils, a USB charging cable and manual.

The cylindrical battery has an internal 2000 mAh battery with full power output. Or, in other words there is no wattage or temperature adjustment. The battery can be charged with the included USB cable via the micro USB port on the side of the device.

The K-PIN battery will fire coils with a resistance as low as 0.15 ohm. To turn the unit on or off push the fire button five times. The LED display will flash to indicate that it’s turning on or off. The LED also serves as a battery indicator and a warning indicator for low battery power, over heating, low resistance and short circuit. When charging the display will light and when fully charged all five lights will be illuminated.

The top-filling K-PIN tank has a 4 ml or 2 ml capacity, Kanger says it’s “your choice.” To fill the tank unscrew the drip tip assembly and pour ejuice directly into the tank. Unscrew the coil base from the bottom of the tank to change the coil. When using a new coil be sure to prime it by placing a few drops of ejuice directly into the center of the coil and onto the cotton that’s visible through the ejuice flow ports. Then reattach the coil base and fill the tank, allowing the coil to soak for a few minutes before vaping.

The tank has a unique, adjustable drip tip. Twist the drip tip cover to raise or lower the drip tip to your preferred height. Kanger warns that the K-PIN tank and battery should only be used together as a unit.

I inserted and primed one of the 0.2 ohm SSOCC coils, filled the K-PIN tank with Cinnanutz ejuice from Vapes Gone Wild and allowed the coil to soak for about five minutes. Then I extended the drip tip to its full height and gave it a first vape. I was impressed with the purity of the flavor. And this little unit puts out a healthy amount of vapor. I am interested to see how long that 2000 mAh internal battery will last.

Over the course of the next week or two I’ll be using the K-PIN Kit extensively and will then publish a full, in-depth review. Follow Seven Report on Facebook or Twitter to be notified when that review is live.

Thanks to Kangertech for providing the K-PIN Kit for review. They list it as a pre-order item with a list price of $34.00 but it’s currently available for $30.60. Find out more here.
