First Look: Kangertech JUPPI Starter Kit

Kangertech has introduced another new product, the JUPPI Starter Kit. The includes the JUPPI 75 watt, temperature control box mod and JUPPI Tank.

The mod is powered by a single 18650 battery (not included). The wattage range on the JUPPI mod is 7 – 75 watts in 0.1watt increments. In temperature control mode the range is 200° F – 600° F in 10° increments and 100° C – 300° C in 5° increments.

The JUPPI Box has a unique shape, sort of an “L” shape, the tank doesn’t sit on top of the mod but rather in sort of a notch in the mod. The fire button is on the side of the JUPPI and the OLED display, “+” and “-” buttons and micro USB port are on the front of the device.

To switch between temperature control and wattage modes and select the type of coil material you’re using in temperature control mode click the the fire button three times to cycle through the options. Those options are Nickel, Titanium, Stainless Steel, NiChrome and power or variable wattage mode.

When you attach a tank with a new coil to the mod you may be prompted to set the base resistance of the coil. The OLED will display, “New Coil (+)/Old Coil (-)”. Press the appropriate button. Coils should be at room temperature when setting base resistance.

Adjust temperature or wattage with the “+” and “-” buttons. To get from Fahrenheit to Celsius or vice versa cycle through the top or bottom of one to get to the other. To rotate the display by 180° hold in the “+” and “-” buttons simultaneously. Holding in all three buttons will lock your setting.

The JUPPI Tank has a 3.0 ml capacity. It comes with a 0.2 ohm NiChrome JUPPI coil. The coil is rewickable and similar to the Notch Coil. Kangertech labels the individual parts of the coil as the coil and coil wire. The drip tip is cone shaped and not replaceable as it’s part of the top of the tank.

To fill the tank simply unscrew the drip tip and pour ejuice into the tank. You could take the coil out of the tank to prime the coil, but with all of that exposed cotton that’s going to be pretty messy. I’d suggest simply allowing the coil to sit for a few minutes to ensure the cotton is fully saturated.

There are two, non-adjustable airflow ports at the base of the tank. Kangertech refers to this as “Symmetric Air Flow.”

I filled the JUPPI Tank with Cinnanutz ejuice from Vapes Gone Wild in Newnan, Ga and let the cotton get saturated. I set the coil material for NiChrome and the temperature to 350° F for a first vape. The JUPPI Box read the coil at 0.22 ohm. At 350° F the vapor and flavor production were decent. I upped the temperature to 400° F and there was a noticeable increase in both flavor and vapor and that vapor was just a tad warmer. At 450° F the flavor really popped and the vapor was a good deal warmer.

I’ll be using the Kangertech JUPPI Starter Kit pretty extensively over the next week or so and then will post a full, in-depth review. If you follow Seven Report on Twitter or Facebook you’ll find out that way when that review is live.
