ePuffer recently introduced a new rechargeable cigalike starter kit, the Magnum. The Magnum kit boasts ePuffer’s new SNAPS flavor cartridges that attach to the Magnum batteries magnetically.

It comes with everything you need to get started vaping. Simply charge the PCC (Personal Charging Case) and then put one of the batteries into the PCC to charge it. Once you’ve charged the first battery you can charge the second battery so that you’ll always have a fully charged battery.

The SNAPS flavor cartridge pops right into the battery and is held there magnetically. Then you simply inhale and you’re vaping on the Magnum. No buttons to push, no coils to replace, no tanks to fill.

What’s In The Box

  • 1 X Personal Charging Case (PCC)
  • 2 X Magnum batteries (one blue LED tip, one red LED tip)
  • 3 X Tobacco flavored SNAPS cartridges
  • 1 X micro USB charging cable
  • 1 X Wall adapter 1 X Car adapter
  • 1 X User manual

Along with the Magnum Starter Kit, ePuffer also sent two packages of SNAPS cartridges, a Sweet Sensations Variety pack and a Tobacco Variety pack. I vaped each of those flavors,12 in all.

Where the Magnum really shines is in its ease of use. Simply charge the case and then a battery and vape. The Personal Charging Case is a nice feature, making it easy to carry a full assembled battery and SNAPS cartridge, a spare SNAPS cartridge and a second battery that will be charging while its in the PCC.

The inclusion of the micro USB charging cable, wall and car adapters means it’s easy to recharge the PCC just about anywhere. And the case also has and LED flashlight.

epuffer magnum snaps 01The vapor output of the Magnum is on the light side for a vaping device. It’s about what you’d get from a tobacco cigarette. The draw is tight. The taste varies depending on the flavor of the SNAPS cartridge you’re using. I found the Raspberry Mint Chocolate from the Sweet Sensations Variety pack and the LUX from the Tobacco Variety pack to be the most flavorful.

SNAPS flavor cartridges with sweet flavors have a PG/VG ratio of 60/40 and 70/30 for tobacco flavors. They are available in nicotine levels of 0 MG, 6 MG and 12 MG.

The ePuffer Magnum kit list price is $79.95 but right now ePuffer has it priced at $69.95. Snaps replacement cartridges start at $11.95 for a five-pack. Compared to similar cigalike kits that’s not out of line, especially for the replacement SNAPS cartridges. But you can purchase an open source system, like the Kangertech SUBOX Mini with a 50 watt mod and sub ohm tank for less. So while the ePuffer Magnum is comparable or even better on the price/value scale than other cigalikes, it’s not exactly a bargain.
