CASAA Natioal Call To Action

I received an email today from CASAA, The Consumer Advocates For Smoke-Free Alternatives Association, urging vapers to contact their representatives in the US Congress and President Obama to support HR 2058,The FDA Deeming Authority Clarification Act of 2015.

CASAA is asking vapers to specifically call the White House on Wednesday October 28, “to urge FDA to re-work the deeming regulations so that life-saving vapor products can remain on the market!”

CASAA Logo BlueAccording to CASAA, this bill would, “save the U.S. vapor industry from being destroyed by improper regulations by the FDA. This bill would amend the Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act to change the grandfather date for ‘deemed tobacco.’ This change would allow for all vapor products currently on the market to remain on the market without being subject to the burdensome (read: prohibitive) pre-market FDA approval process.”

The phone number for the White House is 202-465-1111. CASAA suggests you tell the White House that you’re calling to, “urge President Obama to protect consumer choice and demand that the FDA re-work its Tobacco Deeming Regulations so that the existing wide variety of e-cigarette and vapor products can remain on the market.”

They also suggest that you share your own story about making the switch to vaping and include any health improvements you’ve noticed, if your doctor has noticed any improvements to your health. Also let the White House know that the variety of flavors of ejuice available today is important to you.

Finally, they suggest you end the call by saying something like, “Thank you. I hope we can count on the President to protect adult access to these life-saving products.”

Seven Report fully supports this effort by CASAA and urges you to take action to protect your right to vape. And I would also suggest that you tag your representatives in Washington on social media, Twitter and Facebook specifically and urge them to support this bill. A recent study of politicians shows that it takes as few as 30 social media mentions on a topic to get their attention.
